It has been said that the best time to get kids interested in STEM is when they are young, and that is exactly what we did. We went to ULA to show little kids what we have built over the years, including S.T.E.R.L.I.N.G, Totebot, and FrisbeeBot, for their Young Minds at Work event. All of the kids loved it and they even drove them around an area that was set up for them. All in all it was a lot of fun and we hope to do it again.
At Team STEM IMPULSE we have a big focus on community and having kids on our team who may not have had this chance at their school. Because of this we went back to our PR Lead's old school to talk to the soon to be graduating 8th graders about our team and FIRST as a whole. Everyone on both sides were excited and everyone wanted to see our robot, S.T.E.R.L.I.N.G. A huge thank you to Highline Academy Charter School for having us over, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
On April 8th, our home school presented an amazing opportunity to schools all across Douglas County; a chance to meet with real people who work or worked in the Aerospace industry like NASA or ULA or Lockheed Martin. There were over 7 schools represented at the event. A large amount of our FRC team went to the event to meet with these experts. The first half of the event was a delicious dinner at the Hotel Marriott across the street, we then went back to the school for dessert and for some after school clubs to show off what they have been working on. It was a huge success for everyone involved and we could not have had more fun.
