About Team STEM IMPULSE

Varsity Robotics

Team STEM IMPULSE is proud to be the varsity robotics team at STEM School and Academy in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. We are supported by the school's administration and faculty, who understand that the experiences our team provides the students are supplemental to what they are learning in their science, technology, engineering, and math classes. Through STEM Academy, we are also able to provide these experiences to other students in the area who do not attend STEM High. The engineering labs at STEM provide all of the tools our team needs to build our FRC robot. In addition to the standard hand tools and power tools found in most technology education labs, STEM is also equipped with such tools as: a 3D printer, a laser engraver, a CNC milling table, a vertical mill, a TIG welder, etc. Hands-on learning with these tools gives students not only technical knowledge but also confidence in their technical abilities.

Team Goals:

  • To provide opportunities for students to apply their STEM skills to solve authentic, open-ended engineering problems.
  • To provide opportunities for students to engage with and learn from STEM professionals.
  • To teach and practice gracious professionalism.
  • To develop social, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • To inspire and support student exploration and pursuit of STEM careers.
